Learn More About the Program

The Miss Boone County Fair Queen Program is a leadership development and scholarship program. Rooted in Boone County’s long-standing 4-H and fair tradition, the program provides participants with meaningful opportunities to develop real-world skills while representing Boone County with pride and profesionalism.

Our Purpose
The purpose of the Miss Boone County Fair Queen Program is to support and encourage the next generation of female leaders by offering an experience that blends personal growth, responsibility, and service.

What Participants Gain
Through participation in the program, young women develop skills that extend well beyond the fair and competition season, including:

  • Interview and professional communication skills

  • Public speaking and presentation experience

  • Confidence in representing themselves and their community

  • Leadership presence and responsibility

  • Community involvement and service

These experiences help prepare participants for future opportunities in education, careers, and leadership roles.

Competition with Purpose
While the Miss Boone County Fair Queen Program includes competitive elements, those components exist to teach and reinforce life skills, not to judge physical appearance. Each portion of the program is designed to help participants practice confidence, preparation, and professionalism in settings similar to interviews, presentations, and public leadership roles.
The focus is on who participants are becoming, not how they look.

Community Representation
Participants selected as Miss Boone County and members of the court serve as ambassadors for Boone County throughout the fair season and beyond. This role emphasizes professionalism, service, and positive community engagement.
Representing Boone County is both an honor and a responsibility, and participants are supported throughout the experience.

Supportive Program Environment
The Miss Boone County Fair Queen Program is guided by a dedicated local committee and follows clear guidelines to ensure a positive, respectful, and encouraging experience for all participants.
Coaching and guidance are provided throughout the program so contestants feel prepared, informed, and confident at each stage.
